Dear sister of Catherine Colquhoun (Harold), late Joseph Caruso predeceased (wife Nellie Caruso-Allen) and late Annette and her husband Clifford Dumond (both deceased).
Born in Sicily on October 17th, 1919, Grace came to Canada with her parents in 1921. She grew up in Collingwood and worked in her parents’ Fruit Store after school. The family moved to Sudbury where she met and married her husband Tom Ali, a butcher and later meat manager at Loblaws Grocery Store. Together they raised a family of 3 boys and 1 girl. Grace was happy in her role as homemaker, mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed travel and loved cooking, sewing, reading and gardening. Following Tom’s passing in 1972, Grace worked at Lougheed’s Flower Shop, St. Clement’s Church and then owned and operated Regent St. Coffee Shop. Grace enjoyed spending time with her friends at Casa Bella Seniors Residence and at Rockview Seniors Residence. In 2008, at the age of 89, she was diagnosed with Alzheimers and in May of 2011, moved into Extendicare York. Grace maintained her strength of spirit to continue to live her life and look forward to the day that she could return home…
