Dynamic duo?
Oh my god. It is with great sadness I share this story
Greg and I were great friends in school and had been part of the church congregation together. It was in those formidable years of high school that we enjoyed the classic flashdance film. Well, Greg was adventurous and a bit entrepreneurial and I was willing to try anything with my friend. So, we decided to open a bar!!, WE were adults after all, maybe 18 years old. We left our homes and moved into the loft above a friends garage, no heat, little furniture, no income, just a dream to open a bar without any money of our own. Needless to say that did not work well. We came home and back to school with the worst case of pneumonia in history. Who thought we could live in a garage in FEBRUARY? I remember my friend today. The person who was there at my side every minute as I coped with my father passing away suddenly. Greg was the one person who taught me about music, well mostly Styx. He was there when we drove all night to Toronto to see Bruce Springsteen. We drove down and back in the same evening. We searched for buried treasure, we went over the hill to drive the skidoo, to the cottage and waterskied together, ran the boat aground too! Bad days and good days I miss you.
