Passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded
by his loving family on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018.
Beloved husband of 37 years to Lynn Gilbert (nee Lafrance). Loving father of Bobbie Lynn Gilbert (Ron Mott) and Rylee Gilbert (Sook Kim). Cherished Papa of Ronnie Jr. Mott. Predeceased by his parents John & Helen Gilbert (nee Corbiere) and numerous siblings. Survived by his sisters Gaylene (Kal), Lorna and Roslyn (Eddie). He will be sadly missed by the Lafrance family, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Bob worked at Cambrian College for over 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, beer and whisky with friends and family. He spent a lot of time and made a lot of happy memories at “Hartley Bay Camp”, “Capreol Camp” and camping.
At Bob’s request a traditional Anishnabek ceremony has taken place at his home. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. After his courageous battle with cancer, the family requests donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Service.
