Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer
on Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 at Maison McCulloch Hospice
with his loving family at his side.
Beloved husband and best friend of 24 years to Kelly O’Reilly. Proud father of Meghan, Taylor and Nicholas Chokan. Cherished son of David Chokan (predeceased) and Karen Wainman. Dear brother of Kerry Kaskiewicz (Paul), Tracey Foley (Douglas) and Dale Chokan (Shauna). He will be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, the O’Reilly family and many friends, especially Mark Comba who never left his side, Cole, Moose & Nancy.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses and doctors at the Northern Cancer Centre and Maison McCulloch Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. Also thank you to the many family and friends who helped fundraise over past year to help make Dean’s life more enjoyable.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at Ferrigan’s Pub (20 Birch Street, Garson) from 3-7 pm. Cremation and burial alongside his father in the Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
