Dear brother-in-law of Raymond predeceased (Jean), Gaston (Hélène) both predeceased, Dan (Linda) and Denis (Lise). Sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was born on December 28th, 1946 in Sudbury. He spent his childhood living in a small community called Waters Township (Dogpatch), located between Creighton Mine and Lively. For over 30 years, Gary was employed at INCO. He first started working as a miner at Creighton Mine in 1966 and eventually became Superintendent of Safety for the Ontario division. Gary was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always made himself available to both his children and grandchildren and he was actively involved in their lives. Gary spent much time in rinks, in pools, on golf courses and soccer fields cheering on his grandchildren as they competed in their many sporting activities. After retirement, Gary and Paulette moved to their cottage on Clear Lake where they spent many years enjoying time with family and great friends. Towards the latter part of his life, Gary took a keen interest in researching and documenting his family's genealogy. He will be remembered for his strength, determination and love of family. We will miss you grandpa! The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Maison McCulloch Hospice along with Dr. Ravi Singh and his staff for the care, compassion and hearts of gold they have provided for Gary and his family. The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 1887 Bancroft Drive, Sudbury, Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at 10:30am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
