Dear Family,
Although Myrt never taught me, we interacted from time to time throughout my nursing studies and afterward. Unexpectedly, she overheard a conversation in which I was requesting a doctor’s permission to be assigned to one of his patients because I wanted the experience. Eventually, I was granted permission. Shortly after this encounter, I crossed Myrt’s path at the university and with a twinkle in her eye she whispered “Taking on the medical profession?”. Having her acknowledgement meant a lot to me as a young nursing student. Myrt was always positive, professional and genuinely interested in the success of the students.
